Kids draw robots
What happened when researchers asked kids to draw a robot.
“What picture comes to mind when you think of a robot? Draw it!”. Some 100 schoolkids took up this challenge, devised by a research team from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI-DFA). The result was a series of imaginative drawings that the team divided into three categories named after famous robots from films: rectangular humanoids (‘Wall-E’, left), round humanoids (‘Eve’, centre) and non-humanoids (‘HAL’, right). The aim of the project is to help kids learn more about robots and understand them better.
